Built on the principles of integrity, honesty and perseverance, the team at Hematology and Oncology Associates is focused on one mission—to provide individual care to patients based on nationwide standards.

Since 1979, the practice has grown from two physicians and four employees to six physicians, two nurse practitioners and over 50 employees in three offices. Founded by Dr. Charles Montgomery and Dr. John C. Halbrook (who left the group in 1981), Hematology and Oncology Associates is intent on providing patients in North Mississippi, Northwest Alabama and Southwest Tennessee the highest quality cancer-care and treatment for blood disorders as well as exposing them to clinical trials not frequently offered in these regions.

Hematology and Oncology Associates treats patients aged 18 and older. Some of the specialized treatments include chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, biological response modifiers and various supportive therapies.

The practice will continue to keep abreast of new treatments, research and clinical trials including, but not limited to, those involving the top-five tumor types – lung, breast, colon, prostate and melanoma.
